We’re excited to welcome young dancers into our Pre-Primary programs at Newcastle Ballet Theatre!
This enrolment day is perfect for children moving into Kindergarten in 2026 who’d like to experience Ballet and Jazz before school begins.
Who is it for?
Children aged 5–6 years, especially those starting Kindergarten this year and interested in exploring both styles.

Pre-Primary Ballet Class: 11:45am – 12:30pm (45 mins)
Pre-Primary Jazz Class: 12:45pm – 1:15pm (30mins)

Pre-Primary Ballet
Introduce your dancer to foundational ballet technique through imagination, musicality and expressive movement.
A beautiful first step into more structured dance training.

Pre-Primary Jazz
A fun, energetic introduction to Jazz for young dancers who love rhythm, expression and upbeat movement.
During the trial:
✔ Simple jazz technique
✔ Across-the-floor skills
✔ Rhythm, musicality & fun combinations
Starting School? We Understand.
We know that beginning Kindergarten is a big milestone, and every child adjusts in their own time. Families are welcome to join mid-term if needed, so your little one can settle into their new routine before adding dance to their week.
Important Information:
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled class.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement (ballet attire optional for trial).
